KYFL 2024 Registration

Welcome to the 2024 Season!

It's time to register for the 2024 season!

Below is a summary of all the programs we offer and the cost to register.  

Regular registration will run through 4/30 for all programs, on May 1st the price will increase by $25. 

A payment plan of FIVE (5) equal payments is available. 

  • The payment plan will charge 1/5 of the registration fee at the time you register. 
  • The other four payments will occur on April 1st, May 1st, June 1st and July 1st. 
  • If you register after any of those dates, you will have to pay for the portion of the registration fee that was due through the date you register and then the remaining payment will occur on the schedule outlined above.  

Sideline Cheer Division

  • 2nd through 8th Grade 
  • Grade based squads
  • Each squad will be assigned a tackle football team to cheer for
  • Will perform at half time and cheer sideline during games
  • No ICA competition
  • Will perform at KYFL’s Cheer Showcase 
  • Will participate in local parades
  • Practices will be three days a week until school starts and then drop to two days a week. Athletes should wear athletic attire to practice and white cheer shoes.
  • Season cost $275
  • Games will be Saturdays and/or Sundays. As we get the TCYFL schedule, parents will be notified. Games are projected to start late August.
  • Some traveling will be required to attend away football games
  • Game day Attire: Solid white cheer shoes, white 1/4 inch socks,official KYFL uniform and KYFL bow (Full uniform will be provided except socks and briefs).
  • Uniform rental is included in the registration price 
  • Uniform & shoe fitting will be at the beginning of June
  • First day of practice will be July 9th, 2024
  • We will practice outdoors in many types of weather conditions

Sideline Plus Cheer Division

  • Kindergarten thru 8th grade
  • Per ICA, our division is not allowed to hold tryouts or create squads based on ability. Our squads will remain grade and age based
  • Each squad will be assigned a tackle football team to cheer for.
  • ICA trained coaches 
  • Will perform at half time and cheer sideline during games
  • Some traveling will be required to attend away football games. 
  • Will perform at KYFL’s  Cheer Showcase
  • Participation in local parades
  • Practices will be three days a week and remain three days a week throughout the season
  • Games will be Saturdays and/or Sundays. As we get the TCYFL schedule, parents will be notified. Games are projected to start late August.
  • Game day Attire: Solid white cheer shoes, white 1/4 inch socks, KYFL  sideline uniform and KYFL bow (Full uniform will be provided except socks and briefs.)
  • Sideline Uniform rental is included in the registration price
  • Sideline Uniform & shoe fitting will be at the beginning of June
  • Season cost $475
  • Required additional competition uniform check for  $105 due at fittings ( athlete keeps competition uniform)
  • Competition uniform fittings will be held on June 1st,2024
  • Athletes will compete in three ICA Competitions. Competitions could be in August continuing thru  November (exact dates TBA after  ICA registration. )
  • ICA STATE: If your squad qualifies for the state competition, it will be held in mid November .  Fees are not included in registration costs. Possible Fall competition dates could be the weekends of 8/25, 9/7, 9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2
  • First day of practice will be the week of June 3rd, 2024 for a mandatory 2-3 day clinic
  • Official practice will begin June 17th,2024
  • No practice practice will be help the week of July 1st, 2024 
  • 85% attendance is required for Sideline Plus 
  • We will practice outdoors in many types of weather conditions
  • We will have designated indoor practices scheduled at the Maple Park Civic Center

FLAG CHEER

  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade only
  • Will perform at the Flag Football Playoffs
  • No ICA competitions
  • Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once flag football teams begin games, Thursdays will become game days! Wear correctly fighting athletic wear to practice and closed-toed gym shoes and bring labeled water bottle for your athlete. 
  • Season cost $175
  • All practices and games will be held on the main Harter football field.
  • Practices for flag cheer will start July 23rd, and take place Tuesday and Thursdays from 6pm-7pm. 
  • Games will begin August 22nd. Practice will be held Tuesday, August 27th and then a game will be held Thursday, August 29th
  • Beginning September 3rd games will be held on both Tuesday and Thursday through September 20th.
  • Championship "Knights Under the Lights" will be held end of September.  Date and location TBD.
  • The week of September 23 we will used for any makeup games.
  • Each flag cheer squad will be assigned a flag football team 
  • Will participate in local parades 
  • Game day Attire: Solid white cheer shoes( not included), white no show socks, KYFL uniform ( briefs not included)

*PLEASE NOTE: Sideline Only and Sideline Plus squads will NOT be combined. Each division will have separate squads for each grade. An example of that would be that we may have a 6th grade competitive Sideline Plus Squad and a 5th & 6th Grade Sideline Only Squad. (This is just an example. Actual squads will be determined after registration closes. One or more grades may be combined if necessary)


Tackle Football

  • Kaneland Football is a member in the TCYFL (The Chicagoland Youth Football League)
  • 2nd Grade through 8th grade eligible. Kindergarten and 1st Grade will be eligible for Flag only.
  • Player placement is based on Age/Weight/skill level
  • Season cost $495, after April 30th a late fee will apply
  • Included equipment: Helmet, shoulder pads, custom jersey, padded pants, game socks, mouth guard
  • Not included equipment: cleats, practice pants, water bottles, Athletic cup/supporter
  • Season length: July 15th-mid November depending on your playoff schedule
  • Certified USA heads up coaching staffs
  • Playing rules, volunteer program, weather policy, sport physical forms, refund policy, financial assistance, and all of KYFL’s documents are found at www.kyfl.com under Home/Documents

FLAG FOOTBALL

  • This is an In-House KYFL League 
  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade ages 5 & 6 will be eligible for Flag only.
  • Player assignment will be random
  • Season cost $175
  • Included equipment: Game jersey, flags, mouth guard
  • Not included equipment: cleats, practice pants, water bottles, Athletic cup/supporter
  • All practices and games will be held on the main Harter football field.
  • Practices for football will begin August 6th and take place Tuesday and Thursdays from 6pm-7pm. 
  • Games will begin August 22nd. Practice will be held Tuesday, August 27th and then a game will be held Thursday, August 29th
  • Beginning September 3rd games will be held on both Tuesday and Thursday through September 20th.
  • Championship "Knights Under the Lights" will be held end of September.  Date and location TBD.
  • The week of September 23 we will used for any makeup games.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

  • PAY ONLINE IN FULL:  Submit total fees online today upon conclusion of this registration session via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account.

 

  • PAYMENT PLAN:  Fees are divided into 5 installments with the first installment of 1/5th total costs (plus processing fees) to be collected online today upon conclusion of this registration session via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account. The remaining installments will be drafted from your account on April 1, May 1, and June 1 and July 1.

 

If you wish to use a different account to pay the balance, please log in to your Sport Engine account BEFORE the first day of payment to update your account information.

  • Please note if you choose this payment option the remaining installment dates are firm. For example: You register on March 5th and pay 1st installment. The 2nd installment will be drafted on April 1st.

KYFL REFUND POLICY 2024

All refund requests must be made in writing to KYFL President, KYFL Treasurer, and the Director of the program the athlete is registered for, Football or Cheer.

  • Any refund request of registration fees submitted prior to May 31st of the intended registered season will receive a full refund minus processing fees with the return of KYFL equipment.
  • No refunds will be issued after May 31st of the intended season*.
  • KYFL equipment must be returned.

*Refund Requests after May 31st due to new medical issues or injury must be submitted with medical documentation for review. This may result in a refund of registration fees minus processing fees and costs incurred for the preparation of the season with the return of KYFL equipment. Consideration for refund due to medical issues or injury must be submitted prior to the day of the first scheduled game of the intended season to be eligible for review.

FAMILY DISCOUNT

If you are registering more than one player/cheerleader in your family this season, you will receive a $25 discount on the second (and third, etc.) child's registration fee.  In order for the registration system to recognize that your family is registering multiple players, please register all of your players at this time.  On the Review Page, there is a link near the bottom to "Register Another Player" - please click on this link to ensure that all of your family's players are registered within the same order.

***Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of your family's discounted rates.***


COACHING

As KYFL is a 100% VOLUNTEER run organization, we rely on our volunteer coaching to make our league so successful. We look to our supportive families to help us create our coaching staff. If you would be interested in volunteering as a coach for our 2024 season, please complete the coaching application which can be found on the registration page of kyfl.com

 

All active football and cheer coaches will receive a $50 discount via manual refund for the intended coaching season's football and/or cheer registration if the following requirements are met before the start of the first practice of the intended season***:

  1. Coach has completed an annual coaching application and been approved.
  2.  Coach has submitted and been approved for their criminal background check.
  3. Coach has read and signed the KYFL Coaches Code of Conduct
  4. Coach has completed all required training prior to the start of the season.

***If both parents and/or guardians of registered players coach for different teams in the intended season, only 1 (one) $50 discount will be applied to the registration after both coaches complete the requirements.
